CLARK & ELLIS CLAIM BRAIN'S SUMMER WINS

Jamie Clarke won the Brain's Summer Junior Handicap tournament at the Matchroom, but only after a hard fought win over Andrew Phillips.

Clark, giving 30 start, recovered from 40 behind in the second frame. He conjured up a 27 clearance to earn a re-spotted black and sunk the black for victory.

Clark beat Rob Davies 2-0 in the semis and Andrew Phillips beat Michael Edwards by the same margin in his semi final.

Jamie Clark took the first prize of £50 and a ticket for the Jimmy White exhibition night. Andrew Phillips collected £25 as the runner up.

In the Senior summer handicap victory went to Stephen Ellis after an impressive runaway 3-0 victory over Paul Thomas.

After ten weeks of qualifying matches, Stephen Ellis beat brother Frank 3-0 in their semi final and Thomas stormed by Wayne Griffiths by the same margins.

Stephen Ellis received the first prize of £75 and a ticket for the Jimmy White exhibition. Ellis will also enjoy the honour of taking on Jimmy in a one frame challenge on the night.

Paul Thomas received £50 as the runner up
