JORDAN WINS JUNIOR TITLE

DATE: January 2005

Fourteen year old Jordan Follows produced his best ever snooker to beat thirteen year old Darren Thomas in the final the The Matchroom Junior Club's winter Handicap tournament.

The prize up for grabs is a trip to the Irish Masters in Dublin in March, all expenses paid. Follows can't make the trip so Thomas' disappointment at losing the final was tempered by the news that he will go on the trip to see the world's best players in action.

The final, attending by a large crowd from the Junior Club, was a thriller from start to finish.

Thomas was first out of the blocks, taking the first frame with two useful breaks in the twenties.

Follows snatched the second on the black, but fell behind again as Thomas dominated the third.

Some astute play from Follows kept him in the match, as he took the fourth on the blue to set up a final frame shoot out.

And inspired by his narrow escape Follows stormed through the decider. He made two breaks over twenty which overturned the 25 point start he was giving to Thomas.
