Nine year old Jamie, who lives in The Bryn, Llanelli, was the youngest player in the Under 18s event and his victory is testament to the success of the Matchroom's Player of Distinction Scheme, in which Jamie is the first inductee.
It is Jamie's first tournament success since he entered the Scheme in July. He was awarded his place after showing both promise and dedication and as part of the programme receives coaching from both Terry and Wayne Griffiths and gets free practice time to hone his skills.
Wayne has been impressed with his prodigy saying "Jamie shows great composure for such a young player. His technique is sound and his dedication to following a structured practice routine is already showing positive results.
"He has the potential to become a very good player if he continues to work hard at his game."
Young Clarke had to come from 2-0 behind in his quarter final match against Darren Thomas, edging through 3-2, but his 3-1 semi final win over sixteen year old Dale Evans, from Carway, was less stressful.
Jamie Edwards (right) beat Jordan Follows 3-0 in their quarter final and dropped just one frame against Rob Davies in the semis.
But he couldn't put the brakes on Clarke in the final, and despite a close and tense battle, Clarke's potting ability and consistency saw him through.
Clarke picked up £100 for his win, while Edwards received £40.
