37(36)-73(72), 94(68)-36(36), 66-42 Good evening, don't forget we kick off early this evening at 18.00 GMT with three crucial matches to cover... and a very scrappy start by Davis and Higgins, both of whom are out of the league now, but looking for some pride and pounds! the second frame has followed the pattern of the first, a couple of misses by Higgins and a small break by Davis is enough to add £1,00 to his bank balance. Higgins pieces together 46 to get a frame on the board.. John Higgins has embarked on a maximum attempt, he's made 56 so far and all the reds are open... nope, he's lost position on 73... Higgins motors through frame five with a 69 to take the lead and assure himself of a draw, however academic... Davis wins the last to earn a draw and his only point of the season. Stephen Hendry and Ding start their crunch match in a few minutes. Hendry needs a draw and Ding needs to win to get through to the semi finals. Hendry started well but missed a tricky pink to centre on 36 and Ding stepped in and cleared up. Hendry's returned the favour in frame two, an immaculate break. Both players look in top form, which, looking ahead to the Maplin UK championships, bodes well for an exciting tournament. It's Ding's turn to have a chance of a maximum, he's made 64 so far, but must secure the frame first, he's done that, onto 80 but he's got three reds in a little cluster he'll need to split... and he's opened them, it's on now... he's had a kick, but he can still pot the black to take him to 104 and it's in, two reds left and they're perfect... but he's lost position on the black, he needs an amazing shot here to pot the very thin black with the rest... and it hangs on the jaw but doesn't drop. Some cagey safety before Hendry got in to make 50, he needs one more frame... Ding's won the next, his 46 before a massive miss-cue was enough. So the scenario now is that Hendry needs the last frame to go through and Ding needs it to go through... and it's Hendry who wins the tense frame. He's through to the semi finals in fourth place. Ding goes out. So sit back now for the Top of the Table Clash. Which of the League's new boys will be number one seed for the knock out... First blood to Selby on the back of a 63 break... a topsy turvy frame ends in Selby's favour when Perry went in off the pink. Selby is going to top the league and be number one seed for the knockout, so he will play Ronnie O'Sullivan in the semis and Joe Perry will play Stephen Hendry... Selby broke down on 37 but Perry missed a long red and let Selby in again... Joe Perry has steamed through frame four with a great century and he's won the next too... and Perry completes his revival to earn a draw. So the league stage is over. Join us next weekend for the semis and final live from Potters Leisure.
