FORMAT
All matches in the
Round Robin stages will be 6 frames, the Semi Finals will be best of 11 frames
and the Final will be best of 17 frames (7/10).
Matches will not start before the times indicated on the format. Table numbers
for all Round Robin matches will be determined the day before and published by
the tournament director.
All matches in Round Robin stages are played on a roll on/roll off basis.
Play will start not before the allocated time each day with a 20 minute interval
between matches.
1. Each player will play a 6 frames match (all frames to be played) against each
other member of his group.
2. The top player from each group will progress to the next round in the
tournament.
3. Players must take part in all round robin matches in that round of the
Tournament for their results in that round to count.
4. Two points will be awarded for each match won and one point for each drawn
match.
5. The number of points won will determine the group positions.
6. Should there be an equal number of points won by two or more players, then
the following criteria will determine the final position of each player in each
group:
6.1 The player with the best Frame Difference
6.2 If two players are still equal then the player with the highest number of
frames won
6.3 If two players are still equal, the winner of the match between the two
players who are equal
6.4 If two or more players still remain tied then the
following will apply:
6.4.1 Highest aggregate score from the matches between the tied players.
6.4.2 If players are still equal then the highest aggregate score of the tied
players using all matches played in the round robin stage.
6.4.3 If players are still equal then a 1 frame play-off will decide the final
group position.
7. If at any stage in the Tournament a player fails to play in any match in the
Tournament he shall be deemed to have officially withdrawn from the Tournament.
8. If a player withdraws from the Tournament for whatever reason all matches in
which he has played and results scored by him and his opponent in the round in
which he has withdrawn shall be considered null and void.
9. A player who has withdrawn from the Tournament shall only be eligible to
receive either points or prize money relating to that Tournament in accordance
with Section II K 3.4 of the World Snooker Players’ Handbook.
10. High Breaks scored in a match that is subsequently considered null and void
as a result of the withdrawal of a player from the Tournament will only be
eligible for the High Break prize(s) in accordance with Section II K 3.4 of the
World Snooker Players’ Handbook
11. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances or disputes arising in relation
to the above competition format the Tournament Committee shall in its sole
discretion consider each matter and make such decision as it deems fit. The
Tournament Committee’s decision shall be final.
DEFINITIONS
FRAME DIFFERENCE is the Frames Won less the Frames Lost.
eg. Player Wins 25 Frames and Loses 10 Frames = Frame Difference + 15.
AGGREGATE SCORE is the Total Frame Points won less Total Frame Points lost in
all matches eg Player Wins match 1 with frame score 100-20 and loses match 2
with frame score 30-80 = Aggregate Score +30 points.
