Match Notes Good morning 欢迎来到全球斯诺克网站 世界知名斯诺克门户网站 welcome to this eagerly awaited Clash of the Dragons... This match will be watched by countless millions in Hong Kong and China as well as widely across Europe and the UK, probably one of the biggest tv audiences ever for a snooker match... First blood to Marco with a cracking opening red.... some good pots to move along to 22, he will need to try and disturb the pack soon... he has clipped some reds out, but he's left a hard cut back black now... I suppose you could say that Marco is a double Dragon as he carries a lot of support from Wales, when in the UK Marco is based down at the Terry Griffiths Matchroom in Llanelli, where he's coached by Terry and supported by everyone down there, but of course Ding is carrying all the local support as his UK base is right here in Sheffield... Marco reaches 44 but he's out of position now... but that's an encouraging start by Marco... here's the first scoring chance for Ding... he's rather unlucky with a big bounce off the cushion, cost him good position and he's missed that tricky red to centre... Ding's got another chance but he'll have to find a way to get the last two reds off the cushion... he can't at that visit but he only trails 45-35 now and there are two reds left... Ding's got Marco in trouble with the safety at the moment on the last red, one miss by Fu... he's hit it second attempt and still safe... Marco fluked the last red but it's Ding who clears up to win on the black... Fu starts the second with 9 points but with no position he's played a good safety... an error from Marco and a good scoring chance for Ding... and he's looking good here as he's whistled along to 47 and leads 55-19 and he's won the frame despite missing the last red, barring two snookers by Fu.. Ding gets the last red to put the frame out of Marco's reach... Marco makes a safety error and Ding can pounce to get ahead in frame three... but he can't develop the reds so a let off for Marco... this frame has got a bit bogged down, the balls have gone awkward and the tactical play is sending more safe... Fu breaks the stalemate but it's not a straightforward scoring opening, but he's progressed to 24 and leads 48-12.. he ran out of position and he's missed the red... Ding's got the chance to clear up now... but he doesn't and Fu has a chance, well he did until he missed the last red... Ding is on a difficult green now and needs all the remaining colours to pinch the frame... he opts for safety, he's 22 behind on the green and he's forced a foul and miss from Marco... and this is not easy for Marco to hit... and again... so now Ding is only 14 behind and Marco still hasn't hit the green... he's got it this time and it's safe... so Ding is just 5 points behind now on the brown and he's been outplaying Marco in these safety exchanges... until Marco snookered him, good escape and fairly safe... not safe enough as Fu gets the brown and Ding needs a snooker now on the pink... Fu secures the frame after 46 minutes so he's in the match now... Eagle eyed Michela Tabb has spotted a problem with the cue ball and it's been replaced and Ding seems to like the new cue ball as he's got a nice scoring chance in frame four... Ding's raced along to 31, if he keeps going this will be the quickest frame of the match so far... and this is a great break from Ding, onto 90 and a good chance of a century... and there it is, he's got 140 on here... well he did until he missed the yellow... so 3-1 to Ding at their interval... they're back at the table and Fu has the first scoring visit... he fails at 16 but a fluked red gives him the chance to lay a snooker... Ding has found a red and in no time at all has made 31 and split the reds open...he's beginning to flow now... and that's the frame safe... another super break, could be another century... no it isn't but a good 87.... Ding is in again in frame six, ominous signs for Marco now... and Ding is flying now, there's another one visit frame winning break... but it ends at 99 so no century... Ding's among the balls again in frame 7, it's one way traffic now... but he's stalled there and at last a chance for Fu to compile a break... and a good fighting response by Fu who won the frame at this visit to half Ding's charge for the moment... And Ding will remain in his chair for a while as Marco has the first scoring visit in frame 8... what a fighter Fu is, after sitting watching Ding for so long, he's coming back with a bang now, on a break of 59 now and a good red to the middle now turns this into a frame winning chance... and Fu's closed out the frame... and a good chance of a century now... and he has, a great effort by Fu and the match is wide open again... and there's a crowd pleaser, a cracking double on the yellow.... Ding open frame nine with 25 but he's let Marco back in and he's already on 28... and that blue makes it 63, and he's won three successive frames with that brilliant 100 clearance... what a treat we've got in store tonight when they return to complete the match... Ding holds a narrow 5-4 lead Good evening, welcome back to the conclusion of this high quality match... Marco has created the first scoring chance and made a nice 40 break with more to add, in fact he's going along so smoothly that he's got a maximum and what a red there to the green pocket, to stay on the black, on 81 now... he's on to 96, but the last three reds are not in good positions now... oh he's so unlucky... a brilliant thin red, clipped the last two open but sent the white in off... but history now, the important fact is that Marco has won four frames on the spin and is now level in the match... Ding flukes a red to start frame eleven but he doesn't get on a colour... Two visits now and Ding has moved along to 39-0 and he can build on his lead here... and just at the vital moment he misses the black, he's left 4 reds on and only leads by 53... and this is becoming a very big frame now... can Fu punish Ding for that error... Ding is sitting in his chair tapping his head, he knows what a bad error that was... Fu has made 30 so far and he's on the yellow... he's got a kick and even Fu lets his placid expression show some annoyance... he can only play safe now... effectively as Ding leaves Fu a shot at the green... Fu clears green to black and from 5-1 down he now leads 6-5, what a turn around... This is better from Ding as he's cruised along to 47 at this visit, but I spoke too soon because he's broken down on 47... no damage done, a good red and Ding has moved 60-20 ahead with 4 reds left. Ding gets another chance and now he will do enough to go 6-6.. Fu cracks in a great long red off Ding's safety as frame 13 gets underway, the last before the interval, who's going to take the lead at this crucial stage... Fu didn't make much at his first visit but he may do this time... Fu is 49 ahead, he needs two more reds and he's got them, and so Fu takes the one frame lead into the interval... Ding looks to have enjoyed his interval he's raced onto a break of 48 now... now 70 and he's levelled the match again... you could say it's a Ding Dong battle now - but would I! Ding's on course for the fourth century of the match, well he was until he snookered himself on the last red... Marco's made 18 but missed a tricky red along the top rail and he's left it sitting for Ding... and Ding's looking very fluent now, he's moved on to 47, 29 ahead... and he's regained the lead, he's weather the storm from Fu and looks very dangerous again now... and there's the century, what a high class match this is... Well it seems anything one can do so can the other, Marco smacks home the first long red in the next frame... and a good red again to come back for the blue, well he meant to be on the blue but it's flown off the cushion again and he'll have to come back up off a baulk colour... another great shot, he's split the pack wide open but it's covered the black up even more... this match is the highest quality we've seen so far and it's undoubtedly heading for a dramatic conclusion as well... Fu's missed that red with the rest, trying to get back up the table again... so 22 scored and a chance for Ding to get right back at him now... oh a let off for Fu, Ding had to try and force that red to get up for a colour and it's flown back up the table... a miss apiece, and now another one by Marco and this is much easier now for Ding... Marco shakes his head in dismay... this break is still hard work for Ding with the black still covered, round the table every shot to get back to the reds... he's reached 40, the black is now in play... but he can't get on it yet... he's lost position.. so he's 25 ahead after that 47, but there are still 3 reds left... Fu's missed the long red and left it on to the middle pocket... I can't see any way he can get back onto the last two reds here... might be good value to put a baulk colour safe... Ding's pushed the green to the side rail, which is a bit of insurance now for him should Fu get the last two reds... Ding's had a go at a long red and he's lucky to see it covered by the pink... Ding's gone for a plant there, it was hard to make and he's got away with it unless Fu takes on a long red... he does and he gets it... great shot by Fu to get the safe green out, he needs green to black to pinch the frame... he's done it and it's level again, what drama! First chance to Ding in frame 17, and he's on the ball to notice Michela nearly put the pink on the wrong spot... pink spot was covered and she was heading for the brown spot when Ding pointed out there was room on the blue spot... again the black is out of play in this break at the moment, Ding's moved along to 31 so far without the aid of the black... but he's had to play safe now with 32 on the board... here comes Fu's response, he's got the black open now so it's a better scoring chance than Ding had... but he's got glued on the reds when he tried to split them... he's got one long range possible red to the yellow pocket, but you wouldn't fancy it much at this stage of the match... and he opts for safety and it's a good safety because he's covered that red just above the baulk line, which gives Ding a problem to get everything safe.... that's pretty good and it forced Fu into an attempt to the middle, but he's played that with a strong safety element... Fu's found a red this time but he's missed the yellow trying to get up the table and he's left a red on.... it's not an easy opening yet, an awkward red to centre faces Ding next... and he's caught the jaws and got it safe... Ding get a good long red from Fu's safety error... Ding needs one of the last two reds to secure the frame... he gets it... he's 43 up now with 35 left on... and lays the snooker, Ding goes 9-8 ahead... Ding pots a red but goes in off, there's one long red for Fu to play and he pots that cleanly... but he can't score at this visit, Ding flukes a red but there's no more open reds on yet... Marco snookers Ding with that good safety shot, Ding misses everything, so he'll have another try... Ding's escape has left a red on... Fu progresses to 30 and that shot opens the pack more, this is now a great chance for him to put a big break together to level the match... everyone, except Ding of course, would love to see another nail-biting decider and we've already had a few this week... and we're going to have the final frame, a superb break by Fu. Right here we go... Ding's taken on a long red, missed it, a chance for Fu to get the long red, nope and he's left it hanging in the jaws... oh what has he done there... potted the red with the rest but grazed another red and lost position, a great chance gone and only 15 scored... Ding gets another long red and a lucky double kiss puts him on the black... the lead has grown to 37 now... he's missed the red with the rest... and looks to have left everything pretty safe... Fu has laid a tough snooker... there's the first miss as he tries to lay on the red on the top cushion, to get safe... miss number two... and a third miss... perfect at the fourth attempt... more trouble for Ding, he's potted a red and run in off after it... he's given Fu 16 points in fouls now... Fu misses a long red and he's left a chance for Ding and this should be the chance to clinch the match... there's the key shot, Ding pots the pink and opens the reds up... he's 45 ahead with 59 left... it's Ding's match and what a fantastic match this has been... Ding goes through to play Hendry in round two. |
