Match Notes Good morning, Welcome back to the Crucible... The audience is settling down ready for the start of this "Celtic Challenge" between Ryan and Michael... The first chance of the match falls to Judge after Day misjudged a safety shot... a run of 35 helps Michael settle into the match... and Judge gets another scoring opportunity... he's left a black hanging in the jaws and Day can eat into the 51 point lead here very quickly with reds in the open... a bad kick sends that red off line and Day scores only 14... Judge mops up to take the opener... Ryan gets 26 on the board but he hasn't quite settled down yet... he's got a good long red and opened up a 56 point lead now, although he's still looking a bit anxious... that's the frame secure, that should settle him now... Day has rattle dup 39 in frame 3 and he's in good position here on the black, with open reds... onto 69 and that should be frame over as Judge needs snookers... up to 77, can he run in a century here... a good pink keeps the break going... the break ends at 83... Judge opens the fourth with 13 but misses a red to the corner and he's left Day plumb on a red... Day's made nothing of that but having put 27 on the board Judge is a long way off that mid range red... Day makes no mistake with that red and with six reds left he can punish Judge, but he's missed that easy red on 23... errors from both players still, and there Michael butchers his position from red to black and he's on nothing... so Judge lead 39-35, they're on the yellow and it's an important frame to win but one that both players will want to forget... Day gets the yellow but plays a bad safety on the green... the blue is on the side rail and will be the key to the frame... Judge is eyeing up the blue he needs to clinch the frame... great shot - dead weight down the cushion so Day needs a snooker... Day gets the snooker and Judge could yet lose the frame but Day misses the pink so Judge is level at the interval... The players return to the arena, five more frames to play this morning... Judge puts a red on the middle pocket jaw and leaves a great opportunity for Day to pile on some points... and he does, a frame winning visit... Day looks more composed now and he's embarking on another break in frame six... the reds are very nicely open... Day misses on 36, he thinks he got a kick.. Judge now has the chance, 29 points so far... but he fails at 37 so the scores are level with two reds left... Day returns to cinch the frame and open a two frame lead... A safety battle has developed in frame six, until Day leaves a red for Judge... he's missed on 28, Judge can't find his rhythm this morning... the screen has gone up so they're playing to the full arena now... Day misses a red so he's let Judge off the hook there... so Judge now has a 48 point lead with two reds left, he's won the frame unless Day can get some snookers... which he can't... Judge has missed a plant and left Day a tough red along the rail, the black is covered and the balls have gone scrappy... Ryan Day has produced a brilliant shot to get the white behind the brown and tight on the baulk cushion, there is no angle for Judge here, it's a very hard escape, the reds are all over towards the top left corner pocket and the black is now back on its spot... and a great shot by Judge, he hit the white into the jaws and back up the table to hit the red, there's one hard red left for Day... and Day's got it... he's made 15 and got another kick, he returns to his chair muttering darkly to himself... the score is now 23-11 to Day and there are still 7 reds left, one of which Judge has potted now... that visit earns Judge a 32-23 lead with three reds left, Day has another opening but the last two reds are tight on the top rail, he's tried to trickle one along the rail and left it hanging... one point the difference, the red is a formality for Judge... the yellow is near the side rail so that's the big problem now... it's academic as he misses the black. Now the last red is easy for Day and the yellow becomes his problem... Day misses the yellow but gets it safe and the frame is over half an hour now... Day now has a 4 point lead on the green... a good green by Judge and he's on the brown, he should clear up now... Judge launches a long pot to start frame nine, the last of this morning's session... he's smashed into the pack but they didn't split very far open.. he's still got reds to go at and the black is on its spot and pots in both corner pockets... he's missed an easy red, 41 on the board, but it should have been more... 42 for Ryan and he takes the lead in the frame, he's got three reds left to go for... a good black to split the last two reds open, he should dish up here... and he does. Rejoin us at 14.30 for this afternoon's session and this match resumes again on Monday morning. The introductions are under way, Mark Johnston-Allen is still croaking but I'm sure he'll squeak very well! Ryan is first to the table this morning, he looked a bit shaky yesterday and still looks tense, Michael Judge bounced into the arena wreathed in smiles, but he's probably just as nervous... Day has stormed through that break to win the frame, Judge returns to the table, but only to get his arm moving... Day looks in good form so far this morning, onto 59 now and one red needed for the frame and a three frame cushion... and there's the century, great break... Judge gets his first good scoring chance and he needs to make something substantial here to keep in touch... he breaks down and Day gets the chance... and he's made 63 to clinch another frame, a great start today for the Welshman... and he's started well in the next too, too 17 with that good red to the yellow pocket... Ryan is flying so far this morning as his break goes over 50, and he's scored 50 or above every frame this morning already... and this could be another century, he's over the winning line in the frame... onto 81 and still four reds left... cracking long red to the green bag to keep the break going but he's lost good position now... he has to be content with 96 and he'll be very happy at the interval... Now this is possibly the last chance for Judge, he's onto 25 and counting... up to 48 and still on the black, these reds are nicely open, it's not a bad chance here to earn £147,000 for a 147... onto 72 and a pause for a sip of water and a deep breath... oh dear, he's made 104 but left the red hanging in the jaws... Another good break by Judge, he's pulled another frame back... it's a very cagey start to the next frame and the reds are scattered all over the table... Day has picked his through some of the traffic to lead 45-11 but Judge has cracked in a long red now... but only the red and Day is back at the table, Day is 29 up on the brown and very close to the winning line now... and there's the hand shake. Ryan goes through to play defending champion John Higgins
