The undisputed World
No. 1 and Queen of European snooker, Kelly is the player the
others have to try and beat. She has reached the
final of every European Ladies Championship, losing just once to
former World Champion Karen Corr.
She went down to a
shock Last 16 defeat in the 2001 Embassy World Ladies
Championship, proving she is not invincible. But she still
rattled up two centuries and earlier in the season set a new
ladies records with three centuries in a one day event.
During the 2001-2
season there was no stopping her, as she completed a unique
Grand Slam of every world ladies ranking event, crowned with the
World title and finishing the season as European champion once
again.
Kelly started the 2002 season where she
left off, winning all ranking events, until her unbelievable run
of 69 consecutive match wins was brought to an end by Maria
Catalano in the Regal Scottish. She quickly bounced back to
retain her world ladies title in Sheffield and the European
Ladies title in Germany.
In 2003 she lifted the last Embassy World
Ladies title and also the first IBSF World Ladies Championship,
but disillusioned by the lack of ladies events in the UK and the
lack of financial reward in ladies snooker, Fisher has joined
namesake Allison and former World champion Karen Corr to play
9-ball in the USA.
