WORLD SNOOKER SOHU CHINA CHALLENGE     1 September 2004

World Snooker and China's leading internet provider Sohu.com will celebrate the launch of their 'China Parternship' by staging the Volkswagen sponsored World Snooker Sohu China Challenge in Beijing on 5 September 2004.

 

World No. 8 and WSA Board Member Peter Ebdon travels to China along with snooker's pin up boy, Paul Hunter, the World No. 5.

 

The British pair will play a best of three frame match in the sumptuous surroundings of the Lido Ballroom in the Lido Holiday Inn, Beijing on Sunday at 1pm local time.

 

The winner will then go head to head against China's teenage sensation Ding Junhui, who rose to World No. 76 after just one season on the Main Professional Tour.

 

The match will be televised live nationwide across China and GSC will provide all the latest scores and news.

 

As part of the new partnership, World Snooker have installed a representative in Beijing, and Sohu are launching a Chinese language dedicated snooker site. Other snooker sites in China, such as Top147 already attract hits in the region of 48 million a day and the Chinese Snooker Association has more than 38 million registered players across China.
