Global Snooker Countries - France

Snooker in Europe is on the up and up and France
are now amongst the leading European snooker nations.
French players compete in all major international competitions,
including the Euro Tour, Continental Cup, European Championships,
World Championships and they have just completed their third year
as a guest team in the Home Internationals. The French ladies are
currently ahead of their male counterparts, already making inroads
in World Ladies Events. Playing as guests in Pontins in 2000, the French
girls finished second to England and Angelique Viliard won the
Plate Trophy a World Ladies Ranking event.
Such is the enthusiasm, that France has launched its own snooker
newsgroup - a sort of French ASS! Visit them at

In the
summer of 2004 France proved their status as a mainstream snooker
country, when
Yannick Poulain
became the first Frenchman to qualify for the WSA Challenge Tour
French Amateur Championships
French Cup (Coupe de France)
French Ladies Championship
French Junior Championship
French Seniors Championship
